We just can’t get enough of Florida lately.  Today we take a look at Boca Raton which is located on South Florida’s Gold Coast in Palm Beach County.  The history of this resort city begins in 1925 when architect, Addison Mizner, was commissioned to design a world-class resort community.  His brain child, The Cloister Inn, continues to reign as the area’s premier resort and is the property we feature today.  It is currently known as The Boca Raton Resort and Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort.

Another of Mizner’s ideas was a design for a city hall which was completed by architect, William Alsmeyer.  The current structure still bears the original building’s footprint.  It now serves as the home of the Boca Raton Historical Society and Museum.  There is a wealth of knowledge about the area available at the society’s website.

A variety of treatments are available from facials to manicures and pedicures and full spa packages featuring Natura Bissé, one of our favorite skin care lines.  An interesting feature of the spa is the Ritual Bath which has individual mineral baths, waterfall showers, whirlpool, steam, sauna and inhalations rooms.
