Today for our destination location we travel a short 5 hours from New Orleans. We are heading over to Florida to put our toes in the sand and bask in the sun. Florida’s Emerald Coast stretches about 100 miles and is comprised of five counties – Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton and Bay. This is truly a place where you can “go play around the coastline”.

Are you planning to make a trip to the beach this summer? Maybe you’d like to tie the knot on a beautiful gulf coast beachline? Well we wanted to give you some tips on how to do the Florida beaches in style.

With gorgeous white, sugary sand and emerald green water, it is a small paradise that is conveniently located so close to home. Beside the beautiful beaches, there are many hidden treasures around the area. I am also going to give you a peek into some options to get away, to truly relax and enjoy the fabulous activities the Emerald Coast has to offer.

First stop: Destin, located in Okaloosa County. Destin’s Emerald Grande at Harbor Walk Village is a plush condo resort that is perfect for a romantic getaway, family vacation, or a picturesque wedding. Overlooking the Destin Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico, the facility has an open air deck with a spiraling staircase and an indoor reception area to watch the sun set as you party the night away. South Rosa Beach is our next location. For a beautiful stroll and scenic views, check out Eden Gardens State Park. It has 163 acres of land that are part of the historic Wesley homestead. They house beautiful gardens, canoeing/kayaking, hiking, and of course weddings. There is a beautiful pavilion and a wedding tree to make for a memorable venue. Florida State Parks

Looking to hit a few holes while you celebrate your wedding week? There is a plethora of golf courses in the “Emerald City” but one that stands out to me is The Links-Golf club at Sandestin. The club is located between Pensacola and Panama City. It offers the most desirable year round golf destination. It lies on about 2400 acres and features views of the picturesque Emerald Coast.
