Thanksgiving Decor Ideas
It’s my favorite time of year! It’s not quite winter so I’m looking forward to the holidays, and Thanksgiving is days away. One of the things that makes November so special is turning my home into a cozy nest of festive orange and brown with scents of spice. Let’s check out some great ideas to turn your home into a Thanksgiving dream.
If you’re hosting the feast for turkey day, you’ll want to make your table look as festive as the food you’re serving. I love to incorporate traditional fixtures of autumn into a sleek modern design. Take a large clear glass vase and fill them halfway with popcorn kernels. Consider using multiple varieties of popcorn to add more color! Using twine, tie a particularly beautiful fall leaf to a large white candle. Place a trey on top of the kernels and place the candle in the vase. Use a trio of vases of varying heights on your tables and voila, your guests feel at home and impressed! These make for charming centerpieces that provide lovely ambiance.
Scent is the sense most strongly tied to memory and when I think of autumnal memories, I can smell the cinnamon immediately. Sure, you can get scents like this from a scented candle but they’re not the same as the real thing. If you want to fill your home with the warm, inviting scents of fall, you can do it on your stove top with just a few ingredients. Fill a saucepan halfway with water, add the peel of one orange, and a couple of cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil and let the water simmer. It’s a great way to add that fall feeling to your home when you’re not baking a up storm. h/t to creative and healthy fun food.
Do you carve pumpkins at Halloween? Well you don’t have to do it once a year, pumpkins make for great decor for the whole season! Instead of giving that pumpkin a toothy grin, you can add refined geometric shapes and light your dark recesses with patterns of light that will cast beautiful shadows.
