Today, for the second installment of our vendor appreciation series, we talk to Liz and Jason Broekman from GoGo Booth. We could not do what we do without the help of our fellow friendors!
Tell us about yourself: What are your hobbies, interests, and passions?
We have been in the photography field since college. Jason and I met after college both working in the photography business. We continued our passion for photography through the years by doing weddings, sports team photography, location photography, and studio photography. I have always had an interest in events and have had different jobs in the field in addition to volunteering for events over the years.
What made you want to start your own business?
We have 2 sons who were heading to college. We wanted them to learn about business and have something that they could eventually run themselves. Something in photography was a no-brainer but we decided that combining that with my love of events made so much sense. Now the whole family participates.
How long have you been in the business?
We just celebrated GoGo Booth’s 3rd year this month, however we have been doing photography for over 25 years.
What sets GoGo booth apart from your competition?
We bring the entire experience to the client. We make sure that the client has a positive experience from the time they book us through the end of the event. We treat each client as a special friend and try to keep up those friendships after their event. We want them to feel like family because we are going to take care of them like our own. We try to go the extra mile for our clients, not just set up a booth and press go. If we are doing a wedding, we do our best to get the guests into the booth and engage them throughout the night as well as get the couple to have some fun in the booth. It is what they pay for.
What kind of services can you offer clients?
We aren’t just a photo booth. We are a photo experience. Yes, we can provide the traditional private booth but we can also have an open style with a choice of backgrounds. We try to customize each template to fit the personality of the couple but they can also choose from a gallery of premade templates. We can do green screen which will allow just about anything as the background/foreground. We can do GIFs which are so much fun and consists of animated photos in a short 6 second video. We also have our magnificent GoGo Selfie Mirror Experience which, in our city, fits right in with the décor of the old mansions and venues in the French Quarter or Uptown. It is a 6 foot mirror with a touch screen. They start the photo process by touching the screen and it prompts them to pose and smile. The guests love it and it blends in.
In your opinion, what are the biggest trends you see coming for photo booths?
I do not see them going away. I see more animated GIFs coming to weddings, the social aspect of it is going to continue to grow. I see Snapchat becoming part of the software also.
