It’s time for the third installment of our vendor appreciation series. We spoke with Stephanie Jones to learn more about Creole Cuisine and Marche. We could not do what we do without the help of our fellow friendors!

Tell us about yourself: What are your hobbies, interests, and passions?

Be it canoeing, hiking, bike riding, gardening, playing with my dogs in the park or just sitting in a courtyard having a drink, I am happiest outside. I enjoy doing anything creative and tend to DIY everything! Sewing and amateur photography are my two main hobbies. My passions though are travel and all things weddings! I have an undying need to see new places from just down the street to around the world. I tear up at every speech and 1st dance- yes I am a sap! Because of this, I personally make sure that everything goes well for my clients and I enjoy doing it.

What made you want to work with Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts?

When I first moved to New Orleans, I just wanted to get a serving job until I could learn about the city and the best places to work in hospitality and private events. I walked into La Bayou and got the job my 2nd day here. I quickly learned that I was already with one of the fastest growing companies in the city. They value promoting from within and I moved up very quickly. (I have had 7 positions in less than 7 years) We are a company that strives to constantly improve and make the guest experience better as well as better the lives of our workers. We are a large company but it is family owned and you can talk to any one of the owners and see that they care and respect all of their employees.

How long have you been in the business?

I have been in hospitality for 13 years and in special events for 6.5 combined years. One year as a Banquet Manager at Little America Hotel in Flagstaff Arizona, 2.5 years as an Operations Manager at Bourbon Vieux and 3 years as a Sales Manger for different locations for Creole Cuisine.

What sets Creole Cuisine apart from your competition?

We have many different locations to suit nearly any event and budget. We are competitively priced and the quality of the food and service you receive for that price is wonderful! We also include many things that our competition does not as you will see below. We try to make it easy on our clients and include everything they may need in one place. We have an experienced sales and operations team that has a passion for quality and will ensure that your event goes better than imagined!

What services can you offer clients?

We offer in house catering and we include all in house tables, chairs, linens, basic candle décor, staffing, china, glassware, flatware and security for all of our events. Depending on the location, we may also include some AV. We can also assist in securing additional rentals and specialty vendors if needed. We offer a day-of on-site coordinator with all of our weddings to assist the day of the event.

In your opinion, what are the biggest trends or developments you see coming in catering and cuisine?

People are spending more money per person and looking to have more creative and unique experiences rather than traditional events. Any way to make the event able to be viewed or experienced via a mobile device will be huge in the coming years. As for cuisine, guests are more and more interested in where their food comes from, meaning is it responsibly sourced, was it cooked in house, etc. They care more about the quality of the food than in the past. Innovative presentations will continue to be a trend as well as late night snacks. Customization to suit dietary restrictions is still on the rise as well.
